SCD is an international software development company. Since 2002, our mission has been to solve complex software engineering challenges for businesses worldwide. We have collaborated with innovative Startups, SMEs, and Enterprises from Western Europe, USA, Canada, and the Middle East. As of 2024, we have established two headquarters in Dubai, UAE, and Yerevan, Armenia.

We focus on transparency and will openly communicate with you and your team to drive your project to its ultimate success. We have completed dozens of large-scale projects and plenty of smaller ones of various complexity during these years and always achieved our clients' goals.

We also exclusively hire software engineers from top 100 technical universities, with majors in applied mathematics and computer science. As a result, 90% of our clients choose us as their long-term software development partner after our first collaboration.

Being a smaller software development company gives us the advantage of handpicking every project we work on, getting fully involved in every step of the process, collaborating seamlessly, and dedicating all our efforts to making every project successful.

3D Medical Image Processing Software Close the dialog

Description A medical company with multiple international branches was facing a major challenge. First of all, they could not find qualified software engineering experts that could tackle their specific requests. That is, the manual search for organ placement boundaries using images is a time-consuming process and they were looking for a way to automate the process. A custom state-of-the-art 3D imaging software was to be developed to address this specific challenge of the client. After presenting the vision and reviewing our technological expertise, the development was entrusted to us, and our team began working to find a solution to this unique challenge. Challenge To tackle the client's challenge of automating the process of determining specific organ placement boundaries from images, we first cooperated with a specialized research institute for guidance. The research, which took three weeks and cost $5,000, helped us understand which direction to take. Next up, we had to perform a careful analysis of research articles on similar image processing problems to help us innovate and come up with a new solution. Solution Here's how we achieved a successful outcome for our client from prototype to a final solution. 1) Dataset Analysis: First, we requested existing datasets the medical company could provide or any available datasets that could help us. 2) Analysis of Current Approaches: In the next step, we analyzed the latest approaches in the image recognition field, researched, and reviewed scientific articles for image recognition in the medical industry, and cooperated with a specialized research institute to find a solution. 3) Testing Promising Approaches: We tested promising approaches for achieving result accuracy and performance, implementing a working prototype that met the required parameters (speed and number of accurately processed cases) in just three weeks. 4) Pre and Post-Processing: We preprocessed and post-processed data using methods of discrete mathematics and graph operations. 5) First Product Version: Once the main risks were removed, we developed the first version of the full-fledged product in just 3 months. The first version of the product was built using neural networks. The next step was to increase accuracy and increase team involvement. 6) Final Solution: We successfully developed a 3D Imaging Software that successfully converts raw 3D models into semantically meaningful data and operates on three-dimensional parts of the models. 7) Current State: We have successfully developed and continuously enhanced a highly complex 3d software system for interacting with organs over the past 4 years for our client, fully customized to meet their needs and challenges. 8) To support the company's plan to integrate the software with other information systems, we designed it as a series of microservices. These microservices are tailored to address various medical image recognition challenges, ensuring seamless integration with any external system. We continue to provide ongoing development and support services to the medical company. https://scd-company.com/portfolio-item/Medical-Image-recognition/

    Calculus E-learning Tutor

Description With the rise of online learning and interest in STEM education, the clients found a gap in an e-learning software product that would guide students the same way their teachers or professors would and help in their calculus learning journey. Our clients, mathematicians from one of the top universities in the USA, reached out to us to help them in developing a state-of-the-art math learning platform. The mathematicians had already created the core mathematical formula processing engine when we were contacted. Our role was to handle the user interface that allows calculus learners to input and work with these formulas. One of our main tasks was to develop the tools for writing and editing mathematical formulas. We were also requested to handle the development of the business logic for the learning management system, integration of the software with various systems, and the logic for managing tasks such as assigning homework to students and providing step-by-step solutions. Challenge The first challenge was to create an easy-to-use interface for students to work with mathematical formulas and enter solutions. The second challenge was that the formula language is context-dependent, requiring us to understand each meaning depending on the context and convey the correct meaning to the formula processing engine. The ultimate goal was to achieve a web interface where users could enter formulas into an editor and immediately get them checked for accuracy. Later these solutions were automatically converted into a structured (context-free) language that the core math formula engine could process. Solution As a result of our successful cooperation, the online active learning platform for math was developed. Our software engineers designed the math formula editor incorporating it with various systems that were developed by the mathematicians affiliated with the universities in the USA. The system could assign homework, check the results, assess progress, and provide valuable feedback to students to help them in their calculus learning journey. We also successfully developed the business logic for the software and integrated it with the systems of universities so that the solution can be used in the educational process. The collaboration has been ongoing since 2013. The average number of developers has shifted over the years.

Frontend Development For a Hotel Booking Website

Description Our client, Splitty Travel is one of the leading travel booking websites from Israel. They reached out to our team in 2019 reviewing our expertise and services and requested integration with their internal team and to modernize their outdated front-end system. Our primary objective was to create a user-friendly front-end system without making any changes to its back-end system. Another goal was to improve mobile-friendliness and achieve a minimum score of 90 on Google PageSpeed Insights. Challenge Our clients at Splitty Travel approached us because their existing UI was outdated and negatively impacting user experience. They requested that our team completely rewrite the outdated frontend while keeping the existing backend intact. Our main challenge was to speed up the frontend as the booking system loads a large amount of information, and we needed to optimize it to deliver data to users in a structured, sorted manner quickly. This was a complex task due to the intricate business logic involved. Solution To address their challenges, we assembled a team consisting of three software engineers and a quality assurance specialist. We successfully rewrote the website frontend using React.js and TypeScript. In the process, we implemented a comprehensive set of integration and speed tests using Puppeteer. It ensured that the system load time would not suddenly degrade. To optimize the website load time, we employed various techniques, including converting it into a Progressive Web App (PWA), implementing extensive lazy loading, analyzing, and optimizing the sizes of its distributions. As a result of the successful UI development, we created a more responsive website with a more efficient user experience.
